Travel Itinerary
- Day1: Luang Prabang – Arrival
welcome to Luang Prabang, Laos! Upon arrival in Luang Prabang, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in (Standard check-in time is from 14:00). Spend the remainder of the day at your leisure. Overnight in hotel
Optional: Sun set cruise on Mekong River from 17:00PM – 19:00PM
- Day2: Luang Prabang – Kuangsy Waterfall
Early in the morning, we’ll participate in the spiritual "tak bat" ceremony, also known as the Alms Giving Ceremony. Return back to Hotel for breakfast, you’ll be transferred to visit the Royal Palace, also known as the National Museum of Luang Prabang. The palace features a blend of French and Laotian architecture and currently houses various collections of crown jewels, antique cars, royal objects, weapons, artwork, and more, then we will visit Xiengthong Temple. Late afternoon we will head to Kuang Si Waterfall (Tat Kuang Si), located 29 km south of Luang Prabang. Upon arrival, you’ll have the chance to take a short trek along the forest trail up the mountain before enjoying a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear water. On the way back, we will stop by the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Sanctuary, where you'll learn about Asian sun and moon bears and the bear protection program. Overnight at the hotel in Luang Prabang.
- Day3: Luang Prabang – Pak OU – Elephant Riding
Breakfast at the hotel. Today, you’ll embark on a leisurely cruise upstream on the Mekong River, heading to Pak Ou Caves. Along the way, we will make a stop at Ban Xanghai Village, a traditional Lao whiskey distillery village. Here, you can observe the process of making special local whiskey from rice, known as Lao-Lao, and have the chance to taste the wine. The cruise will then take you to the famous Pak Ou Caves. In the afternoon, you’ll be transferred to visit Elephant Camp to do Elephant riding half hour and having lunch at the Camp. Then we return back to Luang Prabang town and overnight.
- Day4: Luang Prabang – Flight to Pakse – Visit Bolaven Plateau – Tad Fan
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for flight to Pakse. Arrival and departure crossing the Boloven Plateau in the upper Mekong Valley, known for its cool temperatures. Rivers flow across this high plateau in all directions and then plunge out of this lush forest along a series of spectacular waterfalls. This trip will allow us to observe the cultivation of this area rich in coffee, tea, cardamom, banana and other crops and inhabited by the people of the Laven tribe. We will visit some villages of this minority. Before arriving at the Tad Fane Resort, we will visit the Tad Yuang and Tad Fane Falls, two of the highest with a large drop in the province. Accommodation at the hotel.
- Day5: Pakse – Wat Phou – Khone PhaPheng Waterfall - Khong Island
Breakfast. Transfer to Vat Phou Champassak to visit the Vat Phou Museum and the ruins of Wat Phou (meaning Temple of the Mountain), declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, one of the most impressive pre-Angkorian temples in all of Southeast Asia. Return by vehicle to Pakse and continue south towards Don Khong. Accommodation at the Khong Island
- Day6: Khong Island – 4,000 Island – Liphi Waterfall
After an early breakfast, we continue by van to visit Khon Phapheng waterfalls the biggest Waterfall in Laos. Then we will drop you at the boat pier Ban Na Ka Sang and take a boat to 4,000 Islands (1-2 hour trip) and visit Liphi “Devil's Corridor”. Visit the old French colonial area where there is the only railway in Laos of 6 km. built in the French colonial era that was abandoned with an old locomotive on this island. Overnight in hotel
- Day7: Khone Island – Pakse
Breakfast, we will take the boat back to Ban Na Kasang and continue on road to Pakse. You will arrive in late afternoon and free at your leisure time in Pake town. Overnight in hotel.
- Day8: Pakse - Departure
Breakfast, we will pick you up and drop off at Pakse Airport as per your schedule flight to Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam…
